Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because the food is the best part of the day. Sure it can be a great time to get together with family and friends, but the stress of being asked endless personal questions can be too much to bear. I've learned some deflecting techniques that are a sure fire way to get you through the holiday successfully. 

Changing the subject by asking your family member questions about them sounds obvious, but rarely is it done. It's a fact that people love talking about themselves. If they ask you why you are still single, deflect and ask them about their pickleball club. They'll talk at you for 20 minutes, but then you'll be free to excuse yourself for a much needed glass of wine. 

Another great technique is acting as though you're too busy in the kitchen to socialize. It's genius. Keep checking on the mashed potatoes and the crescent rolls, even though they've been done for hours. 

In all seriousness, the holidays can be great, but also totally normal when anxiety creeps in. Try to keep things light, play some fun tunes, and enjoy the cheerful spirit during this time of year. Our 30 Thanksgiving memes are sure to make you smile.
